Plush Making Contest: 'Create-a-Mascot!'
With 70 members and counting, it is now time for the community's first contest. This contest will run from December 29th to February 28th. Which should be plenty of time to complete an entry.
Contest Objective: To create an original plushie to be featured as the 2007 mascot for this club. If this contest goes well I will repeat it every year. The mascot can be humanoid or creature. And please include a short description/backstory of the character you created to be this club's mascot!
The entries will be judged within a few days of the contest ending. Five will be selected from the contest entries and then will be put up to be voted on by members of the community. ^.^
Contest Rules:
1) All entrants must be members of the club, so if you would like to participate, please send a note to join!
2) Only one entry per person please.
3) Original characters only please.
4) All entries must be mainly plush (i.e. fabric and stuffing). Some sculpting using other media is allowed.
5) Entries can be hand sewn or machine sewn.
6) Entries MUST be new creations and not previously made works.
7) You must agree that
can use the likeness of the entry plush for the year of 2007 as a mascot (in the main club icon, banners and the like).
8) Please give the mascot character a name before submitting your entry.
Contest Prize:
Mini humanoid plush (4-5 inches) made by
of character of your choice. (Because of the plush size noted, please limit the complexity of your character request.), 1/2 yrd of basic skin tone fabric, 1/2 yard of white velboa, 3 spools of thread(black, white, and basic skin tone) and the mascot plush will be featured until May as the Featured Deviation on the
custom-plush main page and its likeness used for the entirety of 2007 to represent this club.

How To Join: Please send a note with a link to your DA gallery. If it contains plush that YOU made, then your icon will be added to the member list. Please add the club icon to your main DA page.
How to Submit Art: If you would like to be in the club's deviation gallery, please send a note with a link to the plushie in question.
Please only two submissions per member at this time.
How to Submit to the Auction listing: If you would like your custom plush to be linked in the auction list, please send a note with a link to the Ebay/Yahoo/etc auction page where it is located. This section will probably be updated twice a week. Secondhand custom plush are also welcome to be listed.
